INTRO
Evan and I had the privilege of visiting our good friends in Edina again this week. Tommy and Rita were in Kirksville, where Tommy preached today. I led worship in Rita’s absence, and brought a message titled “Stay Close to Jesus.”
SETLIST

5. The More I Seek You – went to free worship and praise here, and did not go on to another song or two I had ready.
It’s an interesting dynamic to be in a fairly small room with an amplified keyboard, but no mic. I have to remember to keep my vocal volume up, but it’s kind of nice to not have to think about keeping close up to the mic.
MESSAGE
The title, again, was Stay Close to Jesus, and it was a pretty basic encouragement to live close to the Lord. We’re living in times when the earth and everyone living in it seems to have gone crazy, leadership transitions and other changes happening all around us, and just, well…life.
The only place where we can maintain proper perspective is living in close proximity to Jesus, which is where we’re designed to live. We talked about why we need to stay close, how we know we can stay close (promises of the Bible), and how we stay close to Jesus (word, worship, prayer, guarding thought life).
OUTRO
Had a great meal after the meeting with the church family. This may have been the last Sunday meeting in the Country Club building. They will meet in a location to be determined next week, and then in their new place in the greater downtown Edina area in two weeks.
