Life Church Worship 02/28/10 from Harold Forbis on Vimeo.
Jonathan Shipman led worship today. He and the team did a great job, as you can see in the video - which includes clips from worship and personal interviews. (I know, very cool). Special thanks to my assistant videographer, Evan Forbis.
We had visitors from the Philippines with us this morning, Bobby & Noemi Pino and their oldest son Jon Rey, and Jaime and Dessie Ton, who are all in the states for a missions conference at Heartland next week. We have the privilege of having them with us for a few days as well.
Bobby shared with us about the radical change God's brought to his life over the last several years, in seeing the church as a family. He made the point that "how can two walk together unless they are agreed" has to do with knowing the will of God and agreeing with Him, and then walking together with each other to fulfill His purposes. Churches can only achieve real spiritual growth by walking together with Christ, who is the head, and our brothers and sisters, who are His body.
Jon and the team led us in these songs this morning:
1. Worshiping You - A (Jonathan Stockstill, CCLI #5097319)
2. Blessed Be Your Name - in A (Matt Redman, CCLI #3498438)
3. Let My Soul Cry Out - in G (Charity Long, from Christ's Family Church, Omaha, NE)
4. Open Up The Sky - in A (Jonathan Stockstill, CCLI #5097302)
Bobby spoke at this point, then we prayed for the whole crew from the Philippines, and several people had prophetic words for them. We also prayed for Abigail Veatch this morning, who's moving to Tacoma, WA, later this week.
Please leave a comment. Hope you had a great time with the Lord and His people as well today. Take a look at Fred McKinnon's worship blog at theworshipcommunity.com to see what went on in worship all over the place.

Video = great idea!

Now THAT! That was awesome. I think we've found the new best way to Sunday Setlist! Are you going to do that regularly? I'd love to see video from other churches' services, too. And Jon definitely did a fantastic job of leading us through all the in's and out's of the flow this morning. We're so blessed, aren't we? Thanks for posting this, Harold!

Yes the video was great! These would also be really good to see for those of us who have missed a service because of work or being gone, etc. It was really cool how we were able to start with deep worship and it also opened the door to greater praise. Great job Jon & the team!

Wow, I love the video. Way to go Harold! The service was awesome! I definitely was able to break free of some things that had gotten a hold of me this week. So grateful for the worship team to press into God and take us up the mountain with them, straight into the arms of Jesus! I love family services like these!!

Thanks, guys - glad you liked it! It would be great to have someone regularly assigned to videoing (like in the olden days) and then edit it down like this. Any volunteers?

Thanks Harold! I was teaching in Sunday School, so I missed the worship service. You did a great job editing this and letting us see some of the highlights. The portion where Jonathan was exhorting the congregation was powerful...even on video.

This is awesome Harold. It would be cool to make this part of a typical Sunday. Hmm... I may have an idea of how to do it.
I agree, Jon and the team did do a great job.

It always amazes me that God can shine through so many people and the congregation is able to step out and into that atmosphere. It is really hard to get away from that. I wanted to keep worshiping, but we did have a lot of other important things to take care of as well... Thanks Jon and the worship team. AWESOME job.. Harold, this website is GREAT!!

You know if you guys invest some money you could go completely digital and multi-track your services for a more mixed sound quality:) Just a thought, doesn't cost very much, and Darin is close enough to get you started! Yeah for SAC!!! I liked the video though! I may do one next week maybe!

That was a great video! Sunday worship was wonderful. Jon and the team did an incredible job. Way to lead us; every song, every exhortation, every transition was excellent from my vantage point.
You wouldn't want me to help with video, I cut off heads. Sorry. Not my grace at all.
